... almost there...

Well we are getting closer.... we opted for grass in our little worn out section,(it was cheaper & faster) so now it just all needs to grow in together and green up a little...... and here are the cute parts to my patio... it's almost all cleaned up, hope we can get it all done by the 16th cause I'm hosting a shower at my house...

I hung baskets from the rafters,
... painted my bird house white... maybe we'll get some birds...

and hung up some other things.... so far so good, it feels great to get organized and get it cleaned up and looking decent again.... now we just need to plant some flowers, add a little color, I would like to add more perennials this year... anyways, enough about the yard... but we really haven't been up to much else.

the grass is greener....

... so we have been busy, busy, doing yard work around here, this yard of ours is pretty big, and we have, over the years, slowly been replacing flower beds with grass... Our neighbor planted some trees, so he had some sod that needed a home, and offered it to us, so we took it. I told Brad what we were doing with it, he was all for it so we started digging up this flower bed, I think when we moved in to this house, there was like 8 or 9 decent size flower beds... which is too much for me, I can't keep up with them all, last year we tore out a fence and filled in two huge "beds", I do love the spring when we are in the mood to do these projects and working in the yard is fun... so far it looks great... this is what it looked like before we started... and we are now down to 4 flower beds... not too bad, and this was a pain in the ars to dig up, roots from you know where, that flower bed lining stuff, & bulbs galore... I wonder how many things will pop up next year thru the grass, it was impossible to get them all...... mid project...
... end result... yay!!! I'm so excited to have it done, well at least this small part of it... as you can see we have a worn out walkway thru the grass on the other side... that we are trying to decide what to do with, I want to put in a cute rock or stone walk way but Brad wants to fill it in with grass... I think it will just keep getting worn out ... so we'll see what happens, either way really but I'm sure that will be our next yard project...
we ran out of our neighbors grass and had to get a few pieces of sod... so hopefully it all grows together ok... I have also been working on our back patio and it is sooo cute, I will post pictures of it later, I love my back patio, it is almost done....

ANNUAL EASTER EGG HUNT

Brads Family always has an EASTER egg HUNT at the CABIN in MIDWAY... we had it on SATURDAY, it was LOTS of FUNBron with ALL the CANDY he scored...
...So every YEAR, ken gives away a MARBLE easter EGG it usually goes to the PERSON who finds a CERTAN sticker on a certain CANDY type of thing... Parker was going thru his BUCKET of stuff and did not have a STICKER candy so I gave him one of mine that did have a STICKER, so he could WIN a prize (jump rope, football, sidewalk chalk etc.) but it just so happen that the CANDY I gave him was the WINNING CANDY for the marble EGG that PARKER, also happended to WIN the LAST THREE YEARS in a ROW... so this was his FOURTH year winning the MARBLE EGG.... IT was pretty FUNNY, so now he has 4 MARBLE EGGS.

... SUNDAY EASTER mORNiNg after they had all found their BASKETS, filled with CANDY, new SUMMER clothes & FOOTWEAR... and fun SUMMER TOYS...



... we later went to my mom's for dinner and fun Easter games... we held our first annual Easter EGG SPOON RACE.. I have no pictures to show cause I forgot my camer but it was hilarious, we made a bracket and an EGG COURSE... it ended with BRAD winning it ALL and Kara throwing an EGG at BRAD for winning it ALL... FUN STUFF!!!

we dyed EGGS FRIDAY night... I LOVE dyeing eggs, as do the KIDS... I think it's so FUN to MAKE such PRETTY colors ... it was nice too cause PARKER & MAX could did it themselves... BRON of course kept BREAKING them so after about 2 or 3 BROKEN eggs we just kept giving him the same EGGS to "RE-dye"... his were NASTY when we were all done, but the other two did GREAT ....


I had FUN playing with and IDEA I saw on STUDIO 5, CORN SYRUP & SPRINKLES made for some very cute designs...

Family Night at Brighton

We went SLEDDING the other night at BRIGHTON ski RESORT for FAMILY HOME EVENING.... it was so much FUN, and the KIDS had a BLAST, we got CRUISEN on this big HILL, it was GREAT, but then got KICKED off and just GOOFED around on a closer dinky little HILL...




the KIDS had FUN PLayInG in the SNOW too, MAX made SNOW ANGELS & PARKER went on a little ADVENTURE and found some fun DEEP snow ...
